Money Saving Ideas For Pet Owners, How To Feed Your Pet For Less

Money is tight but our pets still have to eat. Here are some money saving ideas to help you feed your pets for less. Use coupons for pet food and stock up when the pet food goes on sale. If your cat or dog is used to a more expensive brand of pet food, slowly introduce a lower cost brand of pet food into their diet. Start by mixing a little of the lower cost pet food in with the more expensive brand, gradually increasing the amount until your pet has made the switch. Save your leftover cooked vegetables, like cooked carrots, peas, etc., that are normally found in dog food. When you have a bowl full of the cooked vegetables, cook some rice (also found in pet food) mix the veggies and rice, and feed to your pet. Mix a little of your pet's usual food into the rice and veggie mix, or you can add small pieces of cooked meat or boil the rice in beef or chicken bullion for added flavor. Pet Food Pantries springing up across the country for pet owners that need immediate help in feeding their pets. Pet Food Pantries offer low cost or free pet food for the needy. |
