How To Make Croutons
By Sue Doenim
You can make your own delicious croutons with this simple recipe. Use any type of bread and add your favorite seasonings to this basic crouton recipe to jazz up salads and soups. Cut any type of bread into cubes and coat the bread cubes lightly with cooking oil of your choice. Sprinkle the oiled bread cubes with salt or garlic salt. If you wish to add other ground spices or flavorings like pepper flakes, paprika, oregano, etc., now is the time to do it. Place bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet and toast in the oven at 350 degrees until golden brown. You can store these croutons for up to a week in an air tight container or Ziploc bag.
