How To Give Hanging Flower Baskets A Springtime Bath
By Sue Doenim
Hanging flower baskets need to be submerged in a water bath at least once per year for overall plant health, water saturation and plant cleaning. Springtime is an excellent time to get into the habit of giving your hanging flower baskets their yearly bath, here's how. To give your hanging baskets a bath, use the bathtub or sink depending on the size of your hanging basket. Use lukewarm water to fill the tub and add 1 teaspoon of baby shampoo for every quart of water in the bath. Submerge the hanging basket and let sit for 5 minutes in the bath water. Remove from bath water and hang the flower basket in a location to drip dry.
