How To Find A Good Dog Groomer & Maintain A Good Relationship After Finding Them

For many dog breeds, visiting the dog groomer on a regular basis is not an option, it's a necessity. Poodles, for example, must be regularly groomed by a professional to keep their coats well maintained. Other dog breeds with long hair or semi-curly hair can be groomed at home in-between regular visits to a professional dog groomer. Finding a good dog groomer and maintaining a good relationship with them after you've found them is easy. Communication is the key. To find a good dog groomer, start by asking your pet owning friends about who grooms their dogs. Ask your veterinarian and/or dog trainer too. Have a consult with a potential dog groomer, and take your dog with you for the consult. be clear what you want for your dog during a grooming session. Once you have decided upon a dog groomer, listen to his or her recommendations for the care of your dog's coat, and follow their advice for at-home care. As in any relationship, the triangular one between you, your dog and your dog groomer will work best when there is communication. |
