Homemade Oatmeal Bath To Treat Dry Skin By Sue Doenim If you have dry skin all over, the best way to treat it is with an oatmeal bath. You can save money by making a homemade oatmeal bath with this simple recipe. Make a tea bag for your oatmeal out of an old pair of pantyhose. Cut one leg off of a pair of pantyhose and place one cup of ground oatmeal and one tablespoon of baking soda in the foot of the pantyhose. Tie your oatmeal tea bag over the faucet of the bath tub so your bath water will run through it. Soak in the homemade oatmeal bath for ten minutes and then gently pat your skin dry. The oatmeal will remove the dead, dry skin cells which causes dry skin to itch. The baking soda soothes and moisturizes the dry skin.
