Home Remedy To Prevent Shower Curtain Lining From Tearing By Sue Doenim It doesn't take long for your newly purchased shower curtain lining to tear right where the shower curtain hooks attach. After a few showers and a few openings and closings, one or more of those little pre-formed holes at the top of the shower curtain lining will begin to tear. This home remedy will prevent the tearing- next time you purchase a new shower curtain lining, place a strip of clear packing tape on the front and back side of the top of the shower curtain where the hook holes are. Smooth the clear packing down and use a paper hole puncher to punch out the shower hook holes in the lining. The packing tape will reinforce the vulnerable area of the shower curtain lining, preventing it from tearing. Since the packing tape is clear, no one will notice it.
