Home Remedy For Dry Chapped Hands, Make Cheap Hydrocortisone Cream By Sue Doenim Hands become dry and chapped when they spend too much time exposed to water or cold weather. Those elements inflame the skin and make hands feel like they are on fire. The burning, itching and dryness can be relieved with a simple home remedy, a cheap homemade hydrocortisone cream. Buy an over-the-counter 1% hydrocortisone cream and any thick hand cream. Hand lotion will work, but a fragrance free hand cream is works best, it remains on the skin longer. Mix 2 ounces of the hydrocortisone cream into 16 ounces of hand cream. Stir the mixture with a spoon for even distribution of the cortisone cream. The cortisone cream is an anti-inflammatory that will instantly soothe the skin and help promote healing. Apply the homemade, cheap hydrocortisone cream to your dry chapped hands as often as needed. You can also apply it to cheeks when they become dry and chapped from winter weather.
