Eating Vegetables & Fruits Strengthen Bones, Prevent Osteoporosis

We all know that getting calcium through the foods we eat or calcium supplements that we take will help keep our bones strong, but a recent study reveals that eating vegetables and fruits will also strengthen bones and prevent osteoporosis. As our bodies age, we become less able to dispose of the damaging byproducts of the meats and grains that we consume. New research done by Tufts University reports that eating vegetables and fruits helps our bodies block the damaging byproducts of meats and grains that would make our bones weaken over time. The ideal amount of vegetables and fruits to be eaten for strengthening bones is 9 servings per day. Six servings per day if you limit the amount of meat and grains that you eat. |
