A Dutch oven is a versatile piece of cookware that no cook should be without. The Dutch oven can go from stove top, to oven to table is style, and makes a perfect cooking vessel for a wide range of foods. Tips For Using A Dutch Oven To prevent food from sticking, heat the Dutch oven over medium heat on the stove top before you add food. For easy cleanup after cooking, fill the Dutch oven with water and bring the water to a boil on the stove top. The food will release from the sides and bottom of the Dutch oven. Any stubborn burnt-on food particles that refuse to release with the water boiling cleanup method can easily be scrubbed away with a balled up piece of aluminum foil.
