Buying A Christmas Puppy? Buyer Beware Of Puppy Scams

All I want for Christmas is a ....puppy! Most children ask for a Christmas puppy at some point during their growing up years, scammers know this all too well. Puppy scams are as numerous as fleas on a dog during the Christmas season. If you are in the market to buy a Christmas puppy, beware of print ads or internet ads that are offering purebred puppies at bargain basement prices. Buyer beware of so-called dog breeders or dealers that offer you a free puppy, all you have to pay for is the shipping costs. If you want to buy a Christmas puppy for your children, go to a reputable dealer or dog breeder to make your purchase. If a purebred puppy is not a must-have, visit your local animal shelter or rescue pound for a puppy adoption. Potential puppy buyers are not the only getting scammed during the Christmas season either, dog breeders and dealers also have to beware of scams too. Around the Holidays, dog breeders receive emails from scammers pretending to be pet agents for clients looking to buy a puppy. Sellers beware, most puppy buyers want a one-on-one meeting with puppies as well as their breeders prior to buying.
